My visit to Texas was such a success despite my body deciding to be sick 80% of the time. I didn’t grab too many pictures to which I blame my lousy health and spending quality time with family & friends.

As soon as we took off I was so excited that we were passing over Mount Hood and I was able to see it in all its snowy glory. I hope we get to venture up this mountain at some point during the snowy season. It’s so beautiful! I was also able to see St. Helens (as usual) along with a few other mountains I’m not familiar with from above.

I think this might have been above Utah or Idaho, based on the views we had when driving through the mountains there. It’s so amazing seeing the geography from an airplane with everything covered in fluffy snow. I especially liked seeing the secluded homes with paths carved out of the snow for driving through.

We did some good ole Christmas shopping at the Galleria Mall in Dallas where I spotted Bobby Lee from MadTV.

I spent the last two days working on cowls to add to the shop soon! Hooray!
This morning I received my regular newsletter from Anthropologie and I rose to a whole new level of excited for the holidays. One of my most favorite parts about the gift-giving season is the decorations on said gifts! I completely forgot about Anthropologie’s participation in this seasonal to-do by offering gift-decoration packs to its’ customers. They of course give customers the typical retail gift box, but also usually offer great ribbons, tissue paper , and fun “doo-dad” decorations. In case you don’t receive the newsletter, here’s a look at the decorations.
In other news I’ve been having this weird week where I’m a major clutz and I’m super sensitive. Yesterday was kind of the pinnacle where we had two could-have-been life threatening events. Event #1: trying to relight the pilot on our furnace. We’re not exactly “handy” people you could say. Though, I did repair our faucet’s drain pull thanks to YouTube. I tried YouTube on this experiment but I was both too afraid to kill us and too confused on HVAC technology to understand this very “vintage” piece of equipment (the instruction sticker looks like it’s from the 50′s). Alex kindly threatened “If I burn my face off doing this you still have to kiss it!” I guess that might have added to my reluctance. Event #2 I was starting to get a sore throat and put my teapot on with hot water. Forgot that I turned it on “high” and went to the other room for 30 minutes. I heard whistling but thought it was the laundry. Came out to stinky smoke, a yellow teapot spattered with brown, and the teapot was melted to the stove. OOPS! RIP teapot. Luckily I’m able to scrub off the melted paint from the stove so I won’t have to replace the burner. Here’s hoping today is a little more like buttahh.

I’ve been working on these precious little owl ornaments and put a few in the Etsy shop to share with you all. I have a bunch more coming in different shapes, sizes, and colors. Hooray! In other news it has officially gotten cold here in Portland. Highs in the 50s, lows in the 40s and wet! It’s actually helping to get me in the holiday mood (which doesn’t take too much work). I’ve been researching vegan Thanksgiving meal ideas and started planning my holiday projects to be completed in the next few weeks.
Sunday I finished up a crocheted bow headband and decided to take a few photo booth pictures to show it off. I also ended up making another one the next day in pumpkin & yellow but I haven’t photographed it yet. I’m going to be putting them up on etsy in the next couple days along with a few other things I’ve been working on. I already put up the necklaces I made and one sold (Thanks Marijah!) and another is in convo right now. I’m really excited about this!

Did I mention I got a haircut!? I’m really loving it and i’ve been curling it up every chance I get.
Alex came home and wanted to do some photoboofin too so we had a few minutes of family boofin. Then we decided “enough with the BOOFIN!” so we went out for drinks with some friends.

I could probably do the 365 project of Rory – he’s that entertaining to me.
Since I spent the other weekend teaching myself to crochet I’ve done a couple other little projects including a baggy hat and a pouch for my sunglasses. Check them out! Obviously you can tell I used the same yarn for both patterns.
