We’re in the middle of the Portland winter season. Limited light and lots of moss growing outside of our home. I’m looking forward to the next few days of warmer temperatures and more sunlight. Hopefully I can take advantage and spend some time outside. I’m hoping to take advantage of our location in the Pacific Northwest and do more exploring. On top of my list is a visit to Mt. Saint Helens.
I feel like this week has been a roller coaster and I’m not really sure why. Maybe the winter gray is getting to me or it’s just the stress of the unknown. I’m having a hard time pin pointing what is bothering me lately and that’s just adding to my level of annoyance. Hopefully things simmer down soon. Last night we got a bit of the big “Northwestern Storm”; a couple inches of squishy snow that was gone by noon today. I want more!
This past Saturday the only time I left the house was to take my car in for its’ oil change. While it was being lubed up (har har) I walked over to the Fabric Depot and walked around this giant building looking at fabrics galore. I wish I knew how to reupholster furniture, they have so many great patterns and textures that I would love to use to liven up some old furniture. The only thing I bought was a skein of red yarn to crochet a hat.

I told my camera on my jog yesterday and took a few stops to capture the colors and textures in the arboretum behind our house. The arboretum is the best part of my run for two reasons. 1. It’s beautiful and usually very quiet. 2. It means that I’m almost done and nearly home.
